Kalaupapa Gas Station
Place Category: RestoredPlace Tags: Hawaii operational
This little station was built in 1934 and still stands in Kalaupapa National Historical Park on Moloka’i Island, HI.
It seems that Kalaupapa, despite it’s worrying history as a colony for people suffering from leprosy, is still home to a small population and residents can still buy gas here, although only up to 6 gallons a week at certain times on certain days of the week.
I’ve put this in Restored, but this is one of those rare few stations that has been operational throughout it’s history!
