About Egan’s Corner
History of Egan’s Corner
Bill Egan Oil Co operated on Peoria’s southside for many years. It was truly a family affair with Stu Karl doing the accounting, the nephews running service stations, and Dewey Egan serving as co-operator.
If you have any stories about the the southside, drop us an email! We’d love to hear them.

The Future of Egan’s Corner
This site has been established to document the journey of building old style service stations, styling them, and generally indulging our love of petroliana. We are currently working on designs for two buildings, a cottage style station and an icebox station. These stations will be built on the old home of Marshall’s EZ Stop in Rogersville, Missouri.

Celeste Whitlow
Inspired by her father’s ability to tackle any challenge, Celeste is a collector of skills. Unfortunately, that also means she’s always heading in a million directions. Celeste enjoys collecting rocks, creating things, dabbling in the fiber arts, and enjoying quiet time in the Ozarks with her two gigantic dogs.

Bill Whitlow
Bill grew up on the south side of Peoria, working in his uncles’ service stations. Since then, he’s done just about everything you can think of, but now that it’s time to slow down, he’s returning to his roots. Together with his daughter, Celeste, Bill wants to build the gas station of his dreams. A small, comfortable space to enjoy life and showcase a love for the gas stations of the past.
